Format guide

Format Guide

Four ways to put art on your wall. Each with its own discipline.

Canvas

The contemporary, considered choice.

Construction
Premium archival cotton-poly blend canvas, hand-stretched on FSC-certified wooden bars (gallery wrap, 3 cm depth). Edges are wrapped continuous-print or painted black/white per design. Sawtooth or wire hanger pre-installed.
Finish
Pigment-based inks rated 100+ years against light fading. Matte protective coating resists humidity, dust, and minor scuffing.
Weight & Profile
Lightweight. 3 cm gallery-wrap depth means the piece sits slightly proud of the wall — modern, casual, loft-appropriate.
Best for
Contemporary spaces, gallery-loft aesthetic, large statement pieces, environments where lightweight + easy-to-rehang matters.
Sizes available
30×40 cm to 100×140 cm (size matrix on each product page).

Metal Framed

The premium, modern statement.

Construction
ChromaLuxe aluminum panel print mounted in a precision-milled metal frame. The print is dye-sublimated into the aluminum surface — exceptional color reproduction, scratch-resistant, UV-stable. Frame is brushed or matte-finished aluminum (varies by piece). Integrated wall mount system.
Finish
The aluminum surface is the most premium feel in the catalog — slight metallic luminance, contemporary weight, scratch-resistant. Surface is smooth, not glass-protected.
Weight & Profile
Heaviest format. 2 cm frame depth, weighty in-hand. The wall presence is substantial — this is the most “gallery-installation” feel.
Best for
Modernist interiors, corporate or hospitality settings, environments wanting premium tactile weight, art that benefits from clean metallic luminance.
Sizes available
30×40 cm to 90×120 cm.

Wooden Framed

The classic, scholarly choice.

Construction
Museum-grade matte fine art paper, mounted under UV-protective glass in a solid wood frame. Frame options: oak, walnut, or black-stained hardwood. Acid-free archival mat. D-ring hanger.
Finish
The matte paper surface + glass front gives the most “museum” feel in the catalog. The mat creates breathing room between art and frame.
Weight & Profile
Medium-heavy. Frame depth 3 cm. Traditional gallery presentation — formal, considered, scholarly.
Best for
Traditional interiors, study and library spaces, dining rooms, environments wanting formal presentation, art that benefits from matted breathing room.
Sizes available
30×40 cm to 70×100 cm.

Framed Canvas

The signature, framed format.

Construction
Cotton-poly canvas (300–350gsm) on FSC-certified poplar / pine stretcher bars, set inside a slim solid-wood floater frame with a fine shadow gap. Finish: Black or Dark Wood. Hanging kit included.
Finish
The signature LACO format — the textured warmth of canvas held by the architectural cleanness of a frame, the print appearing to float inside.
Weight & Profile
Light-to-medium. Slim 2 cm canvas inside a slim floater frame (9–14 mm front, 32–42 mm thickness). Contained, gallery-ready presence.
Best for
Curated rooms wanting a framed canvas — the tactile warmth of canvas with the considered edge of a frame. Pairs equally well with modern and traditional interiors.
Sizes available
40×60 cm to 60×80 cm (per piece on the product page).

How to Size Your Piece

As a general guide: artwork should occupy 60–75% of the wall space you intend it to anchor. Measure your wall, identify any furniture or architectural features (sofa back, headboard, console), and choose a size that creates visual hierarchy without overwhelming the space.

Common sizing references

  • Above a sofa (2-seater, ~180 cm wide): 90×120 cm or 100×140 cm canvas anchors the wall well
  • Above a queen bed: 70×100 cm to 90×120 cm
  • Console table backdrop: 50×70 cm to 60×90 cm
  • Bathroom or smaller spaces: 30×40 cm to 40×60 cm
  • Hallway gallery wall: mix of 30×40 cm pieces
